Discipline is the first thing when it comes to Armed forces whether it is Indian Army,Indian Navy or Indian Air-force irrespective of their roles follow a common rule Nation first.Being an Indian it gives me immense pride that I belong to a country that has an impressive history of bravery .

So after being selected for SSB interview I was called to Coimbatore for the real test that requires a 5 days process. Before writing about the trip I want to admit that I was screened out the first day itself.Yeah it did hurt but no wonder its life you have to keep going on.

11th January 2017 | So with my hiking Bag-pack carried on back I reached at last to the destination at 9 pm.After traveling for 7:00 hrs I was finally relieved when I got a cab.I went to the lodge near to the Camp where I checked in for just few hours just to take rest.So I took rest and 4:50 am Alarm just buzzed and you know what I literally got this dialogue in my mind from Rustom which says -

Main Bharatiya Nav Sena ka ek officer hoon jahan par aaj bhi ek minute late ho jaane par usse serious offence mana jaata hai

So I got up and was ready within 30 minutes. Then I went down booked a cab to Movement Control Office.Checked out lodge and then walked out .I was completely dark outside with streets dimly lit .I reached the MCO within 15 minutes. When I reached there I saw a group of people completely in formals and there he was the officer dressed perfectly in blue uniform patrolling from one side to another. The first thing that came to my mind is “Watt lagne wali hai”.I reached to the group with full confidence and had an eye to eye interaction with the officer. Then I boarded the bus with around 25 people in batch .Another bus was behind to pick up the rest batch. The bus started and there was one thing on my mind “Was it written in my destiny to be here ?”.So what if I don’t make it today?Or what if this my chance to serve my country.I still remember the words by the Interviewing Navy Officer “Its you who make choices so make sure they are interesting !”.Yeah this choice was interesting to be a part of world third largest force. So bus reached the premises of Agrani .It was 6:00 am sharp and I could see the students of academy practising parade , Maybe its for 26th of January .The incharge officer called our batch to report I reached there quickly.Being in informal I could sense only one thing — D A N G E R.The inspecting officer turned to us and commanded us to open our document and stand. *with sweat from head and a smile on face* I did. Then he turned to me and there he was with the most expected question -Where is your formal ? All I could say is sorry but then I remember him giving me a brief session about Inside campus they don’t use sorry or thank you.So he gave me straight 180 seconds to change .With a bag weighing about 15 kg all I could do was RUN.Don’t think that I did it in 180 seconds I reached in 300 seconds and you can expect now that you cant be sorry !.We moved forward and took our chest numbers on aprons.I got 48 ! hmm now onwards my name was 48.We were then instructed to fill up few forms and get our documents verified.Meanwhile I went to the mess yeah the Navy Mess.I had some breakfast then I saw a cup made up of metal and the coffee even though it was totally not pure one but it tasted really good.We came back to the barrack.

OIR TEST

Officer Intelligence Test is one of the first step that any candidate faces. It is aptitude and logical based .Luck depends which level question you get out of 5.They maintain a certain protocol while they take this test. You cannot pick the pen unless you are advised to.You will be instructed how to fill. The test ran for 17 minutes and with the end the buzzer makes a silence in the room.I did most of the questions.

OIR TEST 2

It generally tests the language and logical interpretation. It was a session of 30 minutes but everyone this time completed within 20 minutes. This time I felt better as I did all the questions.

PP&DT

The much awaited test comes the picture perception & description test.In this test all you have to do is carefully observe the picture in 30 seconds. Now in 1 minute write the action to the picture with number of characters their mood and their age. Then in 6 minutes to write the entire story.I did but trust me the picture was blurry and somewhat was looking like this below.

After this we all gathered for GD & PI where we were divided into 20 nos and two sub teams. Each team will have Group Discussion on the given PPDT test and arrive at a conclusion. So there were people from different parts of India. We had our phase GD it didn’t go well from where I could already see the exit. Then we had our lunch and by the time we were evaluated the allowances were returned to the first time SSB candiadates. Now after standing for 1:40 hrs the results came where only 7 were selected for 4 days camp selection and the rest around 80–100 were said “Better Luck Next Time- Like Tez app does.!”

We were instructed to board the bus within minutes and the next thing I remember standing outside Railway Station of Coimbatore.I felt like someone just fired me or something just really bad happened.I took my luggage and the waited for my train which was around 11:30 pm named the Chennai Express. For straight 10 hrs I waited like a Buddhist. My happiness had all disappeared in air and I didn’t want to visit places in Coimbatore. At 11:15 I finally got inside the train and felt bit relieved as I was finally going home but before that I was going to my bucket list place Yeah {Chennai}. So this was my small experience at SSB INS Agrani.
